Chapter 3 : Rajib’s Innocence
Sometimes, the path of a relationship… begins with nothing more than a single “seen.”
There is no real reason to meet,
No special reason to talk.
Just an unfamiliar name…
An unnoticed picture…
And a silent feeling —
That quietly sinks into your heart,
Without a call, without an expression.
The moment Rajib saw Roma’s “Kon?” message, his heartbeat began to race.
Perhaps because, for the very first time in his life,
he had dared to speak to an unknown girl —
And this time, the reply… had actually come.
Rajib had always lived inside a closed little world.
His father always kept him under strict control.
He had no freedom to play,
And no freedom to make friends.
His father always carried a fear inside him —
“What if my son befriends the wrong kids… and goes astray?”
Because of that, whenever some naughty or mischievous kid came near Rajib,
his father would immediately say:
“Stay away from him. Don’t talk. Don’t play together.”
Slowly, Rajib gave up on everything —
Making friends, laughing freely, or living openly with others.
He learned how to live alone… without friends.
The only thing that made him happy was making paper planes.
He would fold little planes out of paper,
and fly them, building a small, quiet world of his own.
He was allowed just one hour — between 4 and 5 in the evening —
to go outside.
The rest of the day, his life was like a locked room.
Even kids avoided playing with him,
Because he would leave the game halfway and go home.
In school too, he always stayed apart,
Sitting silently in one corner.
He rarely spoke to anyone,
Rarely played.
Perhaps… his father’s fear had settled so deeply inside him
that staying away from the world became his only way of living.
Until the 10th grade, he studied in a boys’ school —
Where talking to girls was out of the question,
And even seeing them was a rare chance.
His routine was the same every single day —
Straight from school to tuition, then straight home.
No stopping anywhere,
No talking to anyone.
Tuition was the only place where, sometimes, girls would be nearby…
But he neither had the courage to talk to them,
Nor the thought of even trying to be friends.
When Rajib was in the 9th grade,
there was a boy from another school who sat next to him in tuition.
Slowly, the two became close friends.
His name was Sajan.
Sajan was open, mischievous, carefree — and a little out of control.
There was always some strange spark,
some curiosity hidden in everything he said —
For Rajib, these were new experiences…
and sometimes a little unsettling too.
One day, in casual conversation,
Sajan said something Rajib had never even imagined.
Sajan said —
“You know what? After marriage, boys and girls… become physical with each other.”
He said it with a faint, teasing smile.
Rajib instantly reacted —
“Are you crazy? That never happens!”
For him, even thinking about such things felt strange.
Rajib was only 15 years old.
His hormones hadn’t begun to affect him yet.
His mind still belonged to that innocent world —
Where boys and girls were just… friends.
But the very next day…
Sajan secretly brought something hidden in his bag —
An adult magazine.
After tuition, when everyone had left,
he pulled Rajib aside into a corner —
where no one could see.
And he took out that magazine.
The moment Rajib looked at it,
only one word escaped his mouth:
“Ughhh…!”
His eyes widened in shock.
His face turned red with embarrassment.
“How can someone even do something like this…?”
His mind was in a storm.
As if someone had shattered his innocent way of thinking.
That day…
For the very first time,
he began to understand —
Why boys are attracted to girls,
And what happens after marriage.
But that understanding stopped only at words.
Inside his heart, he was still a child —
Standing at the doorway of a strange, new world,
Yet still too scared to step inside.
